The Shepherd and His Sheep (Ezekiel 34:1 to 31)
Israel’s leaders had been useless – leading the people badly and serving only themselves. God would remove them, but he would not abandon his people. He would provide a shepherd for them who would lead them and care for them. This shepherd would be a just ruler, like king David, but so much better. The New Testament shows us Jesus, the ultimate Good Shepherd.
