Encouragement: Rest for those who perservere (Hebrews 4:1 to 13)
What promise and prospect is there for those who believe and keep on believing? Rest. Experienced now as rest from our futile efforts to earn God’s favour. Rest now from trying to find God, or to be God. Rest in knowing God. Rest like a perpetual Sabbath – a day off. Rest that’s prompted by listening to and believing God’s word.
