A mystery now revealed (Colossians 1:24 to 29)
Paul rejoices to serve the body of Christ as he serves Christ even though this involves great suffering. In this he identifies with the sufferings of Christ. The goal of his service and suffering is to tell many people about Jesus, about the mystery now revealed – that through the gospel, Christ now lives in them by the Holy Spirit. So Paul works with the energy of Christ.
We need a clear view on the gospel – a revelation leading to a personal relationship with God through Christ. We need to work hard at telling the gospel – to ourselves and the world. And we need to realise being a servant of Christ always involves some suffering.
