Redeeming our Communities

Saltworks is partnering with All Saints Lindfield and Redeeming our Communities (ROC) to offer a mentoring scheme to families in the Lindfield / Haywards Heath area who are in real need of help. The project seeks to link the church with local schools, pre-schools, GP surgeries and other agencies who come into regular contact with local families. The mentoring scheme is a volunteer based programme which allows Christians to better support families in the community. It provides two days initial training, together with ongoing training and support throughout the project. Training is delivered locally.

To be a volunteer, you certainly don’t have to be an expert on families or even to have previously worked with families – you just need to be passionate about family life, have an hour a week to spare and have a real desire to help families through the tough times that all of us experience from time to time. Its a great way to befriend someone you may not otherwise meet and gain an opportunity to share with them the gospel hope that you have.

ROC Family Mentoring open evening

If you are interested in becoming a family mentor, or just wanting to know more about this exciting new initiative, without making any commitment at this stage, there will be a ‘ROC Family Mentoring’ open evening on Monday 26th November, 7.45pm – 9.30pm at the Tiger in Lindfield. If you are simply just curious, we would love to invite you along. There will be opportunity to understand more about the new project, to hear from All Saints’ Vicar James Clarke about how the project helps Christians to reach our local community, to meet our new coordinator Ingrid Skillicorn and hear from some of the people who have supported families through the previous Mid-Sussex ROC project that has run for the last two years.
